Space blankets provide an amazing technology of heat retention. A few years back my
son asked for one for
his birthday. Upon opening it, it was immediately put into use as a tent on the living
room floor. I was amazed
at the uncomfortably hot temperature I found inside the tent when I joined the children
there. I've since been
a
believer in the space blanket's efficency, and feel it is indeed a cheap insurance in any
situation where cold
could provide a problem. For instance, in a car glove compartment in case of break
down or blizzard. Or for
power outages that mean heat loss in the house. Also, for windy nights at camp where
the wind tends to carry
your body heat away.

Space Pens

Selected by NASA and used on all manned space flights, American and Russian.
These famous "astronaut"
pens will write in any position, underwater, on glossy photos, over grease, and in
extreme temperatures. They
come with a unique pressurized leakproof cartridge containing black ink.Regular
pen ink has a short shelf
life but these pens have a shelf life of an estimated 100 years. That made me think of
Robinson Crusoe and
his problems of lack of resources. Ink was one of the items he simply couldn't
duplicate. My favorite
feature of these pens is the ability to write uphill. Some how I often find myself labeling
with an upward slant,
and keep having to shake my pen and wait for the ink to reposition before continuing.
The space pen
eliminates this nuisance.
