Vortex Blender - Hand Crank Blender

Not only is the Vortex a blender, but a 2 speed one at that, with a powerful 2 speed gear system to aid in meal preparation. You place the comfortable hand crank in the top (low speed) position to use as a food processor for mixing up sauces, soups, crepes, baby food, salad dressings, salsas, dips, apple sauce, pancake and waffle batter, shakes, you name it. The exclusive stainless steel blade design, with the crank in the lower (high speed) position, crushes ice to an ultra fine consistancy preparing you for icees and slushes for that next hot summer camp out.

To use the Vortex blender you securely twist the pitcher into the base, and place your ingredients in the pitcher. Both the lid and pitcher lock into place for secure blending. You place the wide stainless steel blender base on a flat, dry surface, and use the C-clamp over the edge to prevent slipping. The Vortex parts disassemble for easy cleaning.

We had the opportunity to field test a GSI Vortex Blender on a recent camping trip and found it succeeded at the tasks we set it to - all but the dried fruit anyway - and no one expected it to handle dried pinapple as we've never see a blender that could. We also found it easily cranked, and our 10 year old enjoyed the job. It made quick work of whatever we concocted, and it was actually exciting to see the efficient Vortex it created in the process.
